Prevention Over Cure

This may be a little bit of a rant.  I hope not.  My social media feeds are becoming jam packed with statuses and shares about finding a cure for this disease or that illness.  Don’t get me wrong, if anyone is suffering, of course we should collectively be trying to find a cure… but shouldn’t we be seeing similar statuses about prevention, to stop us reaching the point of needing to find a cure?*  The skeptic in me knows there’s a reason we’re not...

However.

We need to take prevention more seriously, as boring as that sounds.  Stop this ‘carry on until something goes wrong’ attitude.  The human body is bloody incredible, but it’s not invincible, so let’s look after what we’ve got.  Let’s start by believing that we can control the future of our health…

What is one thing that you’re doing today that you know is harming your body and your health?  Perhaps you should stop.

*Of course there are diseases and illnesses that can’t be prevented.  To be clear, I’m not talking about those.
