I don't know one person who hasn't been hit with some kind of cold or virus this winter, myself included. When I was feeling sorry for myself and trying desperately to get better, I made pots and pots of this tea... it's one of those drinks that feels so healthy you know it's doing you good.
Makes 1 pot
2 thumb sized pieces fresh turmeric
1 thumb sized piece fresh ginger
Zest from 1 orange
Juice from 1-2 oranges
Pinch ground black pepper
- Boil the kettle.
- Slice the ginger and turmeric and add to the pot.
- Peel the zest from the orange using a potato peeler and add to the pot along with the orange juice.
- Add the black pepper.
- Add the boiling water from the kettle and allow to brew for 5 minutes.
- Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy.
